my wife has got an old motorla phone with bt cellnet (still says it on the screen) but she wants a newer phone
ive an unused v600 (motorla too) but its with orange
she doesnt want to lose her contact and also if possible to transfer the number to my phone, and probably keep her network
she is on PAYG not contract
what can you guys/gals suggest?

As Neil says, get it unlocked down at the market.
Or, if you have a mini-usb cable, do it yourself.
Or, send it to me to unlock.
The 1st option is probably the best, don't pay more than a fiver.

Hmmm, had a look at some of the unlocking sites, it seems to cost more to unlock a motorola than anything else! Nokia's are free to unlcok, best price I found was 25 quid!
It's not even worth that much is it?

If you have an ebay account theres loads of people will give you unlock codes for a couple of quid but check compatability as some phones can only be unlocked when data cable/PC are used and conected to handest

i dont have a data cable for the v600
i will see if my wife can take it down the market though to unlock it.
