« on: July 13, 2005, 20:41:46 »
:D  :D Evening all, whilst out and about today up and down the M56 i spotted lots of modded Landys full to the brim with camping gear, obviously heading for the M6 for the pilgramige south to Billing.
Some awesome looking Defender 90 and 110s also Rangies and Discos spotted but sadly didnt see any showing mud-club stickers  :(   Lets hope they see all of you who are going and decide to join mud-club after seeing mud-club members trucks covered with said stickers and flags  :D
Going down there ourselfs hopefully on Saturday but could be Sunday as mates are busy on Saturday  :D

Not to put a downer on things but after looking at the weather reports for tomorrow they could be in for heavy showers in the afternoon, nice and warm there after though....  :D  :D
If in first you dont suceed, try second....
If it aint broke, your not trying ard enough....

Regards MIKE.

Sadly not going again this year the house move has rather been up most in our minds of late.

But in years gone this has been one of the favourite aspects of going to Billing, the journey down.

And the closer you get the more Landies you pass, and they all wave  :D

Hope everyone who is going has a cracking time  :D

I thought about something mounted on the door mirrors that does the waving for you. It's hard work at some of the shows.

Foot operated of course :)

Popped up to Billing this evening, and the place is full to bursting!! Found the other MC-ers all supping ale :) if your looking for them make your way to Vinnies near the roundabout then look up in the trees to the right and you'll see the MC banner, there underneath it :)

The Disco I saw was towing a caravan, had loads in the back and was sitting right down on the bump stops!

Also saw a Range Rover get stopped by Riverside Retail Park. Judging by the driving I should think the breathalyser was required!

Very silly of the driver if this was the case, he or indeed she has plenty of time over the coming days to enjoy that past time.

Full too bursting, that sounds about right, kinda sad I'm not going to be there  :(

I well remember a SAS lookalike 110 getting stopped on the bridge over the A45 as he was sporting two machines guns out the back!!

To be honest, as someone who has lived in the vincinty of Billing for many years until recently, the show is not that popular with the local villiages due to this type of problem. A particular problem is the driving to and from the off road course.

Already had quite a few at work saying 'not the b****y Land Rover show again!

In 1999, the Police were called 5 times to Billing on the Saturday night and the Fire Brigade twice. This is always in the local press!! There is a minority who make the rest of us look bad and normally they are spread out across the country. This weekend they are all in the same place!

My personal view is that as a vehicle based event, it should be alcohol free.
The guy at Billing petrol station thinks all his birthdays and xmas's have come together tho

:( I agree its just a small minority that spoil it for others.
As for the ex sas 110, i wouldve loved to see the face on the copper when he saw the machine guns sticking out of the back

But with so many people in one place for a period of least 4 days it would be a miracle if there was no incidents at all, with or without alcohol.

I can see them whizzing past my works window :( only work 8 miles down the road and my window faces straight onto the A45.
Went out at dinner and past a fair few, lot of series vehicles pulling caravans (i assume to miss rush hour   )
