Insured my Landy with Sureterm. Limited mileage 10k a year and fully comp £293.

They just wrote to me to tell me that it is now £514 for the renewal. I have just moved to a much more risk free area and reduced the mileage and they told me £512.

Any recommendations for insurance please.

she is modded with a lift, safari, mud tyres but nothing major.

thanks

Duncan

Wow!!!!

I am absolutely gobsmacked!

When I think of the praises I've sung for Sureterm Direct.

They've just hit me with wait for it

47 year old.
Full no claims
Clean licence
One minor 3 mph bump in 2001

£600 fully comp.

It's not because of the mods says he.

So that would be over £1200 with no no claims.

I thought it got cheaper as you got older.

There's not much point in their adverts and doing the shows if they can't be competetive. Sounds like NIG have pulled out.

A rather disgruntled Ed

They told me NIG weren't doing 4x4 anymore. Which ties in with something Disco Inferno said months ago. They assured me it wasn't down to the mods.

Well....

A quick call to Adrain Flux and £338. Usually I pay around the £300 mark.

Sorry to be naieve  , but what do you mean? Are you suggesting they get stolen alot?

I have been thinking about fitting a winch, but I've not needed one yet, so this may put me off.

Well it was posted on here a bit ago that some kids had got hold of a remote and were attaching the line to a tow bar and winched in. Effectively cutting the roof in half .

One of are members caught a git who had pulled out his wire across the road and attached it to a tree.

Yes they get nicked as well. so if you get one put some weld on the mounting bolts

sureterm gave me some bull about i was a hazard to other users  cos i had a winch and a lift on the front, so i would not get insurance from anyone, funny that adrian flux insured me 10 minutes laetr for 250 less than sureterm.

hmm so how do 40 ton HGV's and tractors with front loaders get insurance??

maybe its cos they're as safe as houses and when you hit one you'll just bounce off and walk away...

I have just insured my rally car (Discovery) with Secure Direct, not to be confused with (Sureterm!) and they are being underwritten by NIG on the same 4x4 scheme as I had last year.

Worth a call.

I paid sureterm for the insurance for the white one three months ago, and just received the firs cover note today.
But only after I walked up to the sureterm stand and made a very vocal complaint.
Poor service just doesn’t cover it.
From the fleet of people I have talked to at there hotline hey have a really high personnel turn over rate, not good for customer service.
