MSN messanger AGAIN

HMMM been here before i think,
installed msn mesenger 7 & went to sign in & it says im not connected to the internet,so uninstalled it & downloaded msn 6.2 as a knew that worked ok,now when tryin 2 sign in it says i need to download msn 7 if i wish to continue,click no & it just puts me back to the sign in window,any suggestions ???

I have been told about a program called trillion that mimics msn. You could try that.

MSN uses your IE settings to get on the internet, so if you have to use a proxy for some reason and IE doesnt have it set then it will whinge

i would but i have some 1 i need to speak 2 NOW  :wink: ,downloaded trillian & all it does is sit there & impersonate msn by not connecting or actually doin anything,piece of crap  :evil:  :evil:

msn 6.2 was workin perfectly fine till i downloaded msn 7,now it wont work whatsoever

u havent got firewall rules on your pc to allow certain apps to work do you?

as 7 is a different app to 6.2 (as far as file size and the like is concerned) some firewalls which control app launching will require you to intervene and allow 7 to go on tinternet

it probably still thinks 6.2 is being used and as 7 isnt the same app it wont let it out.

right,still no bloody workin,uninstalled & re installed msn 5 to 7 inc 6.2 & none o them work,they either say no connected to the internet or come up with an error code so thoroughly hacked off now

its a linux msn client but its been ported to windows

i use it so i can have both my msn accounts running at the same time on one pc ;)

so as long as you have an msn account you can use trillian anyway

I would try the firewall route first. You can sit there and wait forever if it won't allow any outgoing messages

I've got Messenger but I got fed up of it kicking in as soon as I boot up so changed the settings - nowadays I keep forgetting to load it and log on unless I think hard about it!
