Posted this previously befor forum changes but it now seems to have gone so appologies to those who have read it already

Was at the sunderland motor show last weekend with north east rover owners group and this sunday soldier comes over all camo paint and sargent stripes giving it all the "I'm in the army me and I know everything about land rovers" blurb
we had 2 series on the stand (old lightweight ex-mod and a 88 also ex-mod)and my 90 along with a 110 and a new disco
This TA guy starts of just asking about the club and what do we do etc then starts looking at the vechicles
The disco was a "range rover discovery"
My 90 became a "short wheelbase 110"
he asked if there was any military history to my short wheelbase 110 (I think the nato hitch got his attention)and told him was just a civy vechicle and always had been but that the 88 and the lightweight where former MOD kit
He just looked blankly at them and kind of err'ed and ummm'ed and walked off and spoke to one of the other guys on the stand.

Is it possable that camo clothing rots the brain?
And we trust these guys with guns?

(we trust our nation with these people!)

Would of parked said "jeep" on his foot and called his mates over to point and laugth

There was a guy there who had a couple of tanks and an amphibious bridging vechicle (he was there to promote his tank driving business)
link the one on the link below

He opened up the pontoons so people could get some idear of the size of the thing but the hydralics failed and he couldnt close them up took a JCB and a lot of swearing and about an hour to close them up again.
He would probably still be there if could'nt get them closed as would never of gone back on the flatbed

As long as he knows which end of the gun to point, I don't mind what he calls his vehicles  :-)
