Am I right in thinking to check your Alternator is working a meter should read 14 Volts accross the battery terminals

mine's only reading 12.7

Right I have a replacement Alternator But its got different wiring on the back, I have 3 brown wires 2 thick and 1 thin.

Do I just connect these or what???

What car did it come from?  how much wiring did you get?  When you say thick.......

:roll:  :lol: theres always one!!!!!

Its from a Range rover but when i converted my 90 I used the old alternator from the 2.25 (same wiring )

the wires I am talking about are the ones in my wiring loom
