Would be worth checking the speed rating on them however, some mud-tyres have a relatively low speed rating and it has to be higher than the vehicle you are bolting them to (by law)

Not wishing to get into an argument about it all, but it's worth bearing in mind and it's not something that immediately comes to mind

Size will be fine with your 2" lift but you'll need to wind the steering stops out a bit to stop the tyres rubbing on the front radius arms. If you haven't already done so you'll need to trim the rear arches at the back (camel cut as it's known) and the jury's still out on this one...extend your bump stops to stop the tyres rubbing on the inner arches when the suspension's fully compressed. Some do it, some don't.

I've seen quite a few motors with these Khumo's on, whilst not most peoples 1st choice they do perform very well for the money. ENJOY :-)

Worth noting that Kumho are also Marshall. Same company just different brand name.
They seem to do the job well. The 85 profile helps with space under the diffs.

They are a good tyre, havent had the khumo's but as wanderer said they are Marshalls. They should be fine on speed and load rating as they arent a poor quality remould.
Had a set of 33's on my shogun until they wore out and they were great. Not as aggressive ad the newer Mt's (bfg,pirelli) as they dont really have side tread but they do work well.
Why is everyone fixated with skinny tyres?? 235 arent very wide and with a larger diameter always make the car look too tall...just a thought

HI FOLKS, I'M ON MY SECOND SET.THEY'RE MINT.GOOD ON THE ROAD ALL CONDITIONS EVEN IN THE WET! AND ACCEPTABLY QUIET TOO.WORK WELL IN SNOW. VERY GOOD IN THE MUCK!
CHEAP TYRE AT AROUND £68 A CORNER BUT TYRE PRESSURE IS IMPORTANT AS RIDE DIFFERS GREATLY AT 2" LIFT (I USE 26 fr/32r) BUT TRY VARIATIONS.

BY THE WAY MR BULLI , WHILST CHUNKY TYRES LOOK COOL THEY DONT PERFORM AS WELL OFF-ROAD (NARROWER TREAD CUT THROUGH SOFT STUFF PROVIDING BITE) YOU ALSO HAVE A BETTER TURNING CIRCLE COS YOU DONT NEED TO WIND OUT THE LOCK STOPS(USEFUL IN TIGHT WOODS ETC) HOW OFTEN DO YOU SEE BIG BOOTS ON RTV,COMP-SAFARI,CAMEL CHALLENGE,G4 ETC?
THEY DO SEEM POPULAR IN ICELAND THOUGH
SO ITS LOOKS VERSUS ABILITY.I TAKE THE LATTER

P.S MY FIRST SET WERE 225/75/16. WHICH IS A GOOD SIZE IF YOU WANT TO STAY AT STANDARD RIDE HEIGHT.

 There are 2 schools of thought you chose one i chose the other.I personally dont buy into the thinner digs through to the earths core line...i have had 10.5's and the werent any better. The 12.5's are better at lower pressures on rocks etc...not that there is much of that in the uk
If you notice mine are bfg's not monster aggressive ones...which are better rated by LRO- infact they say they are the best mt available!?! according to them.
Try and find 10 inch wide 35's...unless you want simex...which are poor on the road.

I think Dave runs that size on a lifted Disco, it looks fine and seems to go anywhere he points it.

As for the width thing I know what you mean about skinny tyres cutting through the mud, it's a case of horses for courses.  I find my MT remoulds great in the deep stuff like Leicester laning trips often have, useless in the clingy stuff I got stuck in in Notts and easily damaged on the rocky surface of Derbyshire.

You pays your money and takes your choice, personally I'm thinking of replacing the 235/70 with 235/85 at some point.  I think they are the widest tyre that will fit a standard rim and still drive well on the road, irrespective of the off-road ability.

it might be worth checking the speed rating as already suggested. on a more positive note i had these fitted to the rear of my series 3 and whenever the tyres were in contact with the ground it never got stuck, they are great in the mud!!! :D

how much road time will you use them for? Had them,sold them, they are superb offroad and come up big for the size. They are bad on the road , very noisy and squirm around under braking.
If you do mostly offroading they are worth buying and are cheap but if you like your stereo --- fit some extra speakers!! :lol:

have to agree with bulli a few people i know have got the grizzly's good off road but on tarmac not to good ive seen a few toyota's sliding past me up the inside if you have a sudden stop. i have bf goodrich mt's and i think they are worth every penny on and offroad if your budget can stretch to them.  joe

I run 235/85r16 Goodyear Wranglers on my 2" lifted disco with no problems.
Had to cut the arches though.
Kepped catching the rear wings and the front bumper under extreme articulation.

my bro-in-law Mick has them on his 90 , 235/85x16s.  They seem to do just fine- the tread pattern seems to chuck the mud out well to clear the blocks.

Im putting on 235/85/16 scorpion muds, have the tyres just need the rims now.
Have a 1" lift so will expect I will have to cut the arches.

I have 235/85/16 khumo's on my Discovery and they are really good on both the road and in the mud. I asked about the speed rating b4 I got them and was told they was fine for my 300TDi but I wouldnt know how to check if they was lieing anyway.

I paid just over £65 a corner for mine.

According to the US Kumho website, they are 'Q' rated... which is indeed fine for 200 and 200 Tdi Discos, and Defenders

HOWDY, LOOKING AT THE SPEC OF YOUR MOTOR I'M NOT SURPRISED YOU GET WHERE YOU WANT TO,BUT ABILITY TO 'READ' THE LAND IS ALSO A GREAT ADVANTAGE AND YOU MAY WELL BE BLESSED WITH IT. IN THE WORLD OF OFF-ROADING ETC THEY'RE ARE NO HARD AND FAST RULES,1 DISCO CAN SUCCEED WHERE 5 DEFENDERS FAIL OR A £250 SUZUKI CAN MAKE A £25,000 IBEX LOOK DAFT.

I'VE JUST PUT A SET OF BFG AT's ON MY 300tdi AND THEY'RE OVER-SIZE  :shock: AT 255/70/16 WHICH LOOK COOL BUT AT THE EXPENSE OF STEERING LOCK (£150 FOR 4 BRAND NEW-CAN'T GO WRONG :D )

We head out all over the place there is often a run to Yorkshire dales. Derbyshire is a favourite, most of the nice runs in the peak are on rock so wide tyres is an advantage.Im not a huge fan of pay and play but they are the best place to learn without causing too many problems. My wheels have way more offset so i havent lost too much turning circle.
Have you been out in Derbyshire? Where do you go?
We are organising a club do at Frickley in Doncaster in October . Full weekend including camping and BBQ. We have a couple of members in your neck of the woods, theres a pub meet at Wakefield first Sunday of the month if you are intrested.MMMMMM beer!
