Isnt Yorkshire big!!!
« on: August 20, 2005, 21:30:01 »
just back from hols in yorkshire and i must say you lot have been busy posting   how many posts? gonna need a week to read them all
On the hols front spent a week looking round yorkshire based in scarborough and completly underestimated how big the place is   and will need another visit in the future as there is far too much to see and do in a week. Had a jaunt over to Hawes in the dales on thurs, some spectacular scenery over there and some very large drops off the edge of some very small roads led to SWMBO being scared into silence at one point :P
Is it me or is 1 in 3 cars in yorkshire a landrover? or so it seemed, didnt do half of what we thought we would so will defo be going back

As I have lived in Yorkshire all my life i can second the deceptive size of the county. I have been laning on and off for 14 years and havent scratched the surface.
Derbyshire whilst smaller is also very much worth a visit.

Lro must be drinking too much cider, how would they know they are in P'boro! There are 2 lanes that we have had major nightmares on and neither looked like they would ever dry out!!

Thoughtyou'd enjoy 'Gods Own County', the biggest in England (well, North Yorkshire is by itself)
Over 600miles around the exact borders, 80miles deep & damn varied with it

Me?, I've just spenta frustrating weekend at 'Royston Vasey by-the-Sea' (Filey)
God-awful place, and no visit to the (Pickering) Truck-Fest, or Elvington Air-Show
