Disco front bumper
« on: August 20, 2005, 23:31:19 »
Was doing some work on me Disco today, when the father inlaw managed to break the connector for the headlight washer!!

Looking at getting a newer (read salvage) bumper from the local scrappy, just wondering what sort of price I should be paying.

Was going to change it later as it's got a bit of a knock and a smash it and bodge it job where it was repaired.

All this just to fit a bloody A Bar!!!

Just wanted to check what you have broken, is it the connector on the bumper or is it the connection between the hose and the jet assembly.

I hope you realise that the headlight washer jets just bolt on underneath and can be replaced cheaply and fitted with the bumper still on.

I'm probably teaching my grandmother to suck eggs here, but it would be an expensive way to change a washer jet if you didn't realise, so I just thought I'd point it out incase.

Tim.

The bumper also has a rather unsightly dent, so I wanted to sort that out.  I've broken the connection that comes down from the water tank to the area that splits out to the two jets.

Sending the Father in law to have a look at one I've found locally. Well he was connected with the breaking of the connection!!

Colin, thanks for the offer, but Northants is a bit of a trek for me! Cheers again. 8)
