Gordon, I'd appreciate a step-by-step guide too!Phil.
do you think it made that much difference then? i will have to have a look tomorrow as i have some work coming up on my 300tdi so i was looking at doing that mod then
and made up a temporary blanking plate for the intercooler pipe out of an old beer can :)
Where did ou buy the blanking plate from Gords?
I can't beleive how many people still have functioning EGR valves after all the writes ups there have been in the past.ANYONE WITH AN EGR STILL FUNCTIONING - TAKE IT OFF!!!!![/size]Tim

I'm gobsmacked  I finally got round to removing the EGR and blanking the holes today. Took it for a quick test drive and thought I'd driven off in someone elses car  :? SNIP
No real benefit to the latter as I see it, only a little more space in the engine bay.
I know it's a relatively simple procedure but perhaps the next person to do this mod should photograph it and write a step-by-step guide for the workshop section
I'm off down to the local Land Rover dealer this afternoon to get two blanking plates.
Why does this thing make so much differance?
Then this must meen you are next and are going to write up the guide - WELL VOLUNTEERED!Tim
Phil - I just got one blanking plate (ERR4698) with the intention of putting it between the EGR value and the manifold.
