well after the greenlaning expedition into surrey with some other mudders and being plagued with a nasty noise and vibration on and off all day i,ve done a bit of investigating, seems i have a seized front uj on the old girl(so you guessed right muddysteve :D ) so hopefully a new uj and it will be sorted as i cant find or see anything else wrong...yet!

Well at least you look like you have found it after all Neal! As for mine 2 minutes on the trolley jack and a couple of blocks of wood! and the dislocated spring is back in! Good as new! Lets now hope we can sort Jakes problem!

hope you can get it done easy enough, ended up with a whole new front prop on mine and thats starting to vibrate  :evil:

That really p***es me off, you spend a large chunk of cash fixing a problem, so whne the next one crops upi you think "well it can't be that, it's new"

any suggestions on the best place to get uj,s from? prices seem to vary wildly from one supplier to the next

personally I wouldnt go to paddocks for them, the ones they sell I think are chinesey cheapy ones that dont last.

get GKN ones

I have been through a few of em beleive me, but the GKN where much better but a tad more expensive - about £10-12 each compared to paddocks £20 for 3 or 4 or something.

new uj fitted but cant test it yet as my workshop is now full of machines and i cant get the disco out yet :(  so will probably be next week end now to see if the noise has gone away
