How about setting a standard CB Channel for Meet!
« on: September 14, 2005, 09:02:31 »
You are driving down the road! And you see another Members Vehicle! He or she has'nt spotted you! Where as IF they had had their cb switched on! You could have said hello! and maybe get a reply? So lets set a recognised channel for ALL? Best idea's for a channel not used very much by other user's?

Sounds like a good idea to me, never found a channel without a little chatter after time when travelling maybe using a EU channel would work

My Cb is only used for O/R with club members anyway! However what is the EU channel?

That is a great idea. I only have a 40 Channel CB so if it is a higer channel I will have to upgrade.

A lot of cb's have 2 frequency sets 40 Uk channels and 40 Eu channels on a different wavelength

I only have a UK CB at the moment so EU channels would be out for me.

BUT....  it's not permanently mounted as I can't persuade SWMBO to let me do it, if I can persuade her then I would buy a new one (which would be EU).

SECOND BUT.... I have seen a lot of other posts on here that suggest channel 30 is 'always' used for off road meets, so I would have thought that that would be a better choice than channel 10.

Sounds good.  Our club runs on 38 and although we rarely chat in the daytime, its great for off road days as we can all chat and if the sites are big and someone turns up late they can find a club member fast.

Its a good idea and I think will be popular.  Good way to meet other MC members at sites too

The Idea for this Phil is a consenus on which channel to leave the CB on! I'm not fussy as long as it's a channel we all know where each other will be?

We always use 30. Only 'interference' we have ever got was from a couple of  fowl mouthed idiots up in penrith.

I like to put the cb on to see who about but all I ever seem to get is foul mouthed truckers up and down the A303.

If my 6 yo is in the Landy then I'm afraid to put the cb on for fear of what he may hear therefore a standardisd channel for Mud Clubbers would be a good idea.

Channel 30 gets my vote.

Incase anybody hasn't realised, a new poll is ongoing on the basis that we SHOULD all use the same channel and that we use CHANNEL 30

Tracking them is easy with a couple of radios. The rest you'll have to use your discretion.
