Innocence of youth
« on: September 17, 2005, 19:03:53 »
I was standing on the doorstep earlier on listening to my 10 year old  daughter and her friends talking. There must have been about 15 girls and boys there.
One of them was saying that you shouldn't have a girlfriend/boyfriend until you were in secondary school. Another one was saying that it was OK to have one if you wanted, but what made me laugh was one of them piped up and said that it would be better to hold out until they were *much* older ... about 14-15, otherwise you would waste half of your life.
One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.

Now if you get the right spouse, you don't WASTE your life cleaning, cooking and all those other 'house' jobs..... you have MORE time to 'play'   (or with a Landie - more time to 'fix'   ).

This doesn't apply to me (before anyone acuses me of being sexist!) as SWMBO is big and scary and I do what I'm told!.

Apparently there was a survey of spouses recently and it showed that women think they should be paid pro rata for doing the cooking and the cleaning.

Fine by me!
