a question to the members of glass
« on: September 18, 2005, 19:12:41 »
Can any one tell me what, if there are any rules that glass, green lane by, as this evening I spotted a green discovery emerging from one of the local lanes  that has been closed for a considerable amount of time with a TRO on it. the vehicle had some nice glass stickers on the windows front and rear it would appear that the vehicle had been laning through out the local lanes judging by the crud on the bumpers mud spray on the sides and the tufts of grass hanging from the tow bar.
everything in the path of life becomes clear when you get the wipers working .....................mmmmm then theres the washer bottle motor DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH

Yes, there are a very fine set of rules.

The first are the Code of Conduct (available on the GLASS website and on a sticky in the Green laning forum).
The second is the book of the law.

IF the lane was subject to a TRO and was correctly signed, then the vehicle in question may have commited an criminal offence.

GLASS would have to investigate each case involving members on a case by case basis.

But yes, we have rules.

Feel free to PM me if you need to know more.

cheers

hard to say who is in the wrong (council for not removing the tro sign, or glass member for driving it) until details of the lane is given..

the Tro has been on for over 6 months and is dated to come off 18th april 2006 and is clearly attatched to posts and the gates have had the chains cut it may be that others had done the chaincutting act but it does not mean that this should be driven by any form of traffic I did see motorcycle tracks on the section too as well as fresh tyre marks from a 4x4 by the way i was on foot

Please could you contact the GLASS chairman officially on chairman@glass-uk.org and make a formal complaint about this person's actions. Have a look at http://www.glass-uk.org/pages/membership/rules.htm for the GLASS rules, section 4 being the disciplinary procedure.

Assuming that the person concerned is a member of GLASS, and can be identified, the appropriate action will be taken.

Regards

Andy
