overcharging
« on: September 28, 2005, 15:59:05 »
since getting it wet at abingdon the alternator seems to be overcharging .
making the ignition fuse blow causing the speedo, rev counter etc to stop working
lights seem brighter than usuall (good thing )and the wipers are going to take off
anyone got a quick fix
im thinking its the regulator in the alternator
will it dry out ?
can it be changed ?

thanks

Could be the regulator...  but get it sorted ASAP... overcharging with kill your battery in no time at all.

The regulator is the black box on the back of the alternator, held on by 2 screws.
They cost about £14
