......Taken the heater matrix assembly out of their landy and just put some electric heater fans in instead?

Taken the matrix out yes

Heater fans no.

I rely on the auto box for warmth.

Heard it can be done but never seen it.  The land rover heater (especially with diesel) is poor I must admit  :shock:

What have you put where the heater matrix used to be? I was thinking of putting a compressor there!!

Yeah the heater isnt the best in the world!!!

what are the heater fans you mention?? I admit the heater in the diesel 90 aint good at all and high speed dont work at all

Well, ive seen these 12v heater fans on the net... they're a bit like ur desktop fan except alot smaller and they blow hot or cold air... they are quite good, ive messed around with one before!

Yuk, putting all this eletrical stuff in a Land Rover scares me. During the winter I put a oil rad in the 90 overnight, lovely and warm in the morning

Thats a point better put the heater back in soon as getting chilly, no heating at all at present.

Thats a good point, it is quite scary!!! especially at this time of year.. hmm... ahh well, ill ditch the heaters and stick a compressor in instead... yep.. thats a better idea...
Although heaters do sound good.. hmmmm  :?

if ur tryin to make ur heater better take out ur old defender matrix and put a seriers on thay are much better  but make shure its a good un no leaks  :lol:

I have taken the one out of my series to allow room for the pipework for my snorkel, Im a series though but the heater stil isn't very good, plus, with a series you are heating the world, not just your cab so they pretty usless,

i say just put another jumper on!! solves the problem for me!!!

Before you go changing things, are you sure the cable is adjusted properly at the matrix end so it opens the flap to it's full extent? My heater was cr4p until I adjusted the cable, wow what a difference afterwards! :shock:
