I've got a 300Tdi with cat and mid box, and I'm thinking about taking the mid box out and putting a straight through pipe in. I've got a few queries about it though, firstly, if you are going to make it straight through do I have to take the cat out? as ive heard something doesnt work properly if the cat is left in on a straight through pipe. Secondly is it actually illegal to have a straight through, or is it just illegal because of the sound it might make? Thirdly, does anyone know how much more acceleration I would be expecting and how much more noise will it produce? any info regarding this matter wouldnt go a miss!

no dout some one will disagree with me but the "CAT " on a 300 tdi is not really more than a large partical collector (filter)
in regards to the removal of silencer ive just built a disco engined 200 tdi & it is straight through from the front to the back with only the small diddy silencer at the rear retained
in regards to the noise it prob wont be much louder as the turbo kills pretty much all the noise on a turbo'ed diesel engine
it might improve performance, mine did "Slightly" (next to nothing) BUT i did have to custom make my exhaust system as i fitted a disco engine & also have less of the exhaust hanging down to get hooked up

Just give Formula Fast Fit a ring they will make u a bit and sleeve it at both ends for you!! Your 90 will sound like my green one, with a straight through pipe leaving the cat in.... it will roar, but there wont be the harshness to it (like Daves) hehe :P !!!
