V6 DIESEL IN DEFENDER
« on: October 03, 2005, 20:18:55 »
The sweet V6 diesel, as in Jag, and D3, anybody seen one in a Defender, i can only assume it will fit, as you can fit a V8 Gmc diesel in there.
Reason for asking, feel like selling Big Blue, my 130 DC with the 4.2 toyota engine, and building something differant.
Anybody seen a V6 for sale???

85% OF ALL LAND ROVERS BUILT, ARE STILL ON THE ROAD,
THE OTHER 15% MADE IT HOME ;)

Yowsers!! One wonders how much they want for the lump!!
I guess if you have to ask..........you know the rest!

Be interested to see how one goes in a Defender (like the clappers, springs to mind!), but I'm not sure what you'd do about gearboxes and the like.

Makes you ownder though!

cheers

suppose you could use the 6 speed box from a D3, but the electronics might cause a few late nights!

Don't knock it - its more powerfull, more torquey, more economical and, above all, cheaper to manufacture than the TD5.

.....doesn't help make the Mondeo any more exciting though, I'll admit!

cheers
