If you have been charged VAT on a surcharge cost would you expect to receave a refund of the surcharge plus the vat???

Full refund inc VAT has been given... I think someone was trying to get extra beer money

If that is the case, someone is going to get burnt..  since the company would be liable to pay for the VAT they charged, and since the refund would have had to go through the accounts, then the company would actually have ended up out of pocket !

I suspect it was someone being daft.
