well, a pandemic is going to strike, and soon (if history is anything to go by) but there is reasonably little we can do about it. Since the chances of infection are pretty much the same regardless of precautions taken (other than doing a wako jacko and living in a tent) why stress about it.
The latest estimates are that a pandemic could kill 50,000 people. To put that in perspective, Road Accidents kill 38,000 a year, and we have a population of some 50 million ...
It's still more dangerous (statistically) to spend a night at home, and then drive to work...
