Tank Guard, how long, yes or no.
« on: October 31, 2005, 19:23:52 »
I have a home built tank guard but I am planning to replace my rear bumper and this means the tank guard will have to be altered or...........

I do green laning, some fun days at local quarries and the odd show off-road course. now the tank guard I built is full width and full length and it has not a scratch on it in 18 months. But the bumper ends have been in the wars often. This is why I need a new stronger bumper.

As part of the build will mean removing the tank guard I am thinking wether the tank guard needs to be so big, for what I do. Perhaps something just from the bumper to the mounting tubes commonly used for jate rings, so if reversing into a bank it will protect the rear of the tank.

Has anyone (not including the total off-road race 4x4's doing 100mph) puntured a tank and if so where in the tank?
