Disco rear brake hose and lift
« on: March 07, 2004, 19:12:24 »
Hi All,
To raise the back of the Disco I used the Scorpion top shock absorber mount to lower the shox by 2" and 2" on the axle under the coil mount ( for want of a better word) Today, when jacking the back of the vehicle I noticed that as the axle dropped then the brake hose was coming under strain.

To save me reinventing the wheel. Does anyone know of a brake hose that will fit and be 2-3" longer than the original?
I was thinking maybe one off a defender of an LDV van?

Any ideas?

Why not just drop the flexi brake pipe mount on
the body by 2" with a bracket...

Merlin Motorsport (www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk) make extended brake hoses, with a stainless steel overbraid.   This is what I have on Tigger.

Thanks Paul and Tim,
I'll check Merlin out.
I'd considered dropping the mount. The bottom mounts on to the axle so a bit at each end wouldn't go amiss. Merlin's sound the biz though.

Thanks.
I'll bear them in mind. I might need some other bits from them as well by the look of things.
