copied this from glass website,  save our lanes stickes sounds like a good idea

It's a symbolic statement  Like Red poppies for Rememberance Day. Could we contact Muddyweb and get some suitable stickers made? "SAVE OUR LANES" - "THIS VEHICLE HAS NEVER DONE THE SCHOOL RUN" - "BAN THE BOBBLE HAT"  etc, etc

what does anybody else think!

Save are lanes good idea but i fear it's to late. You would have thought the manufactures ie Land Rover and some others would have somthing to say as it will affect the sales after all how many on here go laning but dont do pay and play.

And how many of those people buy new vehicles to do so ?   Not many.

Vehicle manufacturers want to sell cars on 3 year leases.  When you actually think about it, the vast majority of people here don't actually hold a lot of "value" for the manufacturers.   We run older vehicles, using 3rd party spares.

I'd argue that the fact you can get running Range Rovers for less than 1000, and 200 Tdi Discos for less than 1500 with MOTs says there is already a swamped used market.

Land Rover don't count the Discovery in their 'old' Land Rover claims (not that I think they bother much with that line any more)...  Discovery was very much the mass-marketed vehicle, hence why there are so many of them about these days.

aaaaanyway...  MrsMuddy can make up one-off stickers for any of these ideas, or if someone from GLASS gets in touch we will happily supply them with a bulk order.  (We do a lot of the GLASS stuff anyway)

I do agree with that but if it has a landrover badge its an advert for land rover and what they standfor what ever you might need out of a vehicles.

I think the members of this forum hold a lot of interest to LR

If the second hand values dropped then LR would have a problem selling the new models, this is what happened to Rover and MG. Its also a real good selling point for LR that their vehicles are still on the road 20 years after they come out of the factory.

Stickers would be good, but as I do the school run now and then, I think I will stick with save our lanes.

Maybe even

Save our Lanes
Save our countryside

All on one badge

"THIS VEHICLE HAS NEVER DONE THE SCHOOL RUN"

<cough> I have the BBC coming over this morning to discuss just that - and I'm going to defend my right to drop my children off at school on my way to work (incididentaly after picking up a work colleague...) in the vehicle of MY choice.

Nobody on here would argue anyones choice or use of any vehicle, the stickers maybe just for our offroad only vehicles ,or the sticker could say, "multi task vehicle" or anything like that....different stickers for different pro-campaigns ,and different ways we all use our multi-functional trucks............
