Might be worth a quick search (top of the page)

i was going to put them on.

making a flange to affix them looked a bit difficult.

the defender opening is a bit smaller imho

Mike,

I know it was a while ago now, but do you still have those arches for sale or have they gone? (just checking before I buy some new ones)

Thanks

Pux, both the Discos are on 33x12.50x15's, but the wheels on the blue one are off set a lot more than the wheels on the red one. the wheels on the red one actually go up into the arches without touching but problem is I had to screw the steering stops out too far and I've lost too much lock, so today I've just ordered some more wheels with more off set (so next job will be fitting some arches  )

i've got defender arches on my disco

they've been well cut back though as they're way too big wheen left standard width

gwyn lewis gave me a template to cut my wings and doors (mine are on a5 door)

word of warnign, the doors are a complete pig to cut and get right.

Have a look on E-Bay. I know it's still not cheap but theres a company selling copies of the Rangie spares/ECR type arches that are sold for nearly £300 in some other places . they are going for about £145...

When i asked about them last week I was told they are exact copies of the rangiespares arches...the same type that devon 4x4 sell...what was the problem that disco blue had fitting them? I've been thinking about getting a set but if they are not up to scratch I'll probably leave them...

I was going to fit a set which I bought from ebay for £50, but to fit them you have to have a flanged edge to attach them to.

Fitting any of these arches you loose the inner wing cover which keeps unwanted mud at bay.

A friend a fellow landy owner has a family run plastics business and we've fabricated up a new wheel arch liner from some special plastic which heats and then molds into place.

I cut back the arch by around 2 inches (to the first bend line) the plastic was then pop riveted to the cut edge then bent to form a liner mated to the inner wheel arch (after welding up the holes and rusty bits!)  The cut edges are then covered with knock-on edging to tidy the whole thing up (the stuff like you use for a door seal but without the seal part).  It looks neat, and quite aggresive too :-)  When we've finished the second one I'll post up some pics.

Ok so it doesn't overcome the wide wheel problems but as mine are 235/85/16s I've not really got that problem.

If you type in 'discovery wheel arches' into the e-bay search box you will see the arches.
