Are T-Max winches any good? More specifically the 11000lbs model.  Also if they are, does anyone think they could knock up something up (or know someone who could) to fit to my Frontera?

I want to try and get something on there ready for Whaddon :D

well i'll answer your other q then,
if you made up plans for a bumper or anything then jsut take it to a fabricaors and just make sure they make it out of strongenough stuff!
make it go directly onto the chassis of something similar, im not used to these vauxhall things!!

barry hi
not to convedent on that winch myself watched one burn out in the novice challenge wasent up to much heavy work as i remember think the fella burnt out his solinoide
you could probably grt a bikini mount for the frontera im sure someone like david bower or even scorpion do them that would be the cheaper option or failing that like the last fella go to a fabricator most are willing to do extra work for cash in hand sales regards colin

Barry! Sorry to put a Dampner on it! But T max winches were withdrawn due to Saftey Issues? And you will find that the likes of Paddocks and Rebel4x4 etc won't sell them now!
Mind you take a look at this  www.winchsolutions.co.uk
They sell Champion Winches Which i have one and so does "Topple"

just looked on web and found these,  but can't find where they have been withdrawn from

http://www.paddockspares.com/shop/system/index.html

http://www.rebel4x4.co.uk/t-maxwinches.htm

http://www.electricwinches.co.uk/

all seem to be slling them although paddocks have sold out.

any info to say otherwise would be appriciated though.

Barry My mate and myself dragged 2 competitors  round the scorpion challenge with the 10,000 c winch and it performed faultlessly, one of the competitors had a 12,000  t-max which burnt out and the other an 8274 that would not work as the guys alternator had burnt  out unfortunately they got through to the next round and we didnt, but thats another story!
everything in the path of life becomes clear when you get the wipers working .....................mmmmm then theres the washer bottle motor DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH
