Do it all the time on my days off, mainly to get photos for the 'WebShots'

For example, I drove perhaps 100miles on Thursday 3rd October as far as Bishop Burton & added less than 10 photos to it in the end

Might go to Bolton Abbey on Monday?, that's between a 70 & 80miles round-trip, for a few photos

I'm a bit restricted in where to go, drive in any direction until you hit the wet stuff!
Saying that though, Carol's parents came up here a while back and we did the normal tour of the island. Covered just over 120 miles in a day!!  :D

I go for a 'spin' every month or two. Never have a plan. Just jump in the car with the family and drive for up to 2-3 hours in any direction. I then have to drive back if I have not gone in a circular route

I like to drive around London at night
For one, its free (no congestion charge), but mainly because i work a lot in the city and you forget how great it is sometimes.
London at night is so lovely. Buildings with coloured lights shining up them everywhere, Big Ben, London Eye, The Girkin Tower and so on.
Just dont stop, Muggers and drug dealers everywhere

Ended up in Thurso once  :)

It can be dangerous though - a mate of mine and his girlfriend ended up in Aberdeen once, decided to stop the night; the sound of a father loading a shotgun was heard a couple of weeks later... They are a very happy family now I'm glad to report.  :D

i never take anyone with me, and never had to spend the night anywhere. well, only once, and that didnt involve any petrol
i went out on my mountain bike, and found myself 30 miles from home as it got dark, with no lights. no wallet, no tent and only a waterproof coat for shelter
at least it was the middle of July. i ended up sleeping in a hedge and cycling home the next morning. I did have a mobile phone, so at least my parents knew where i was :)

Glad they listened - I was doing safety cover for a cross-Scotland event once and biked into the middle of nowhere. It was a fantastic day, glorious sunshine and warm evening so I decided to bivvy for the night. Climbed a hill and phoned the campsite I was supposed to be staying in to say where I was bivvying and wouldn't be returning that night.

Ended up getting dragged out my bivvy at 7am the next morning by the search party who hadn't bothered to check the messages on the answer machine first
