DO YOU GREENLANE!
« on: November 12, 2005, 21:41:48 »
HOW MANY OF YOU GREENLANE AND HAVE ACCESS TO WAYFINDER.  IF YOU HAVE PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE USE WAYFINDER TO DOCUMENT THE USE OF LANES,  THERE ARE LOTS OF US THAT LANE BUTT ONLY A FEW USE WAYFINDER.
LIKE THE CAMPING WEEKEND IN OCTOBER WITH GLASS  ABOUT 2 PEOPLE HAVE PUT THE LANES THAT WERE DRIVEN. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE DOCUMENT LANE USAGE TO HELP US FIGHT OUR CORNER!

NOT GETTING AT ANYBODY BUT IT IS VERY IMPORTANT.
IF YOU NEED HELP WITH WAYFINDER THERE IS PEOPLE WHO WILL HELP, YOU ONLY HAVE TO ASK.

SIMON & DEBBIE

THIS IS TAKEN FROM GLASS WEBFORUM
That's an excellent point. The sharp eyed reader will have noted that NERC bill s.62, the one that extinguishes rights, has a qualifier to it relating to usage.

I don't yet know if/how there is an opportunity to use that to our advantage, but we certainly can't if there is no user evidence.

So c'mon folks! Enter 'user ev' in Wayfinder. If you're one of those people who keeps notes or logs rather than using WF you're forgiven ... but keep them safe and make sure they're legible!

I'll make the same offer that I have made on the GLASS forum.

If you have a Wayfinder account and you email me the track from Memory Map I'll list out the lanes you've done to make it easier including if you did the lane from end to start or start to end.
All that's left is the form of use.

Wayfinder, As Simon and Deb have said could be used to prove previous vehicular use depending on how NERC ends up.

I think I've recorded one so far   The problem (partly) is it's not that easy to link what you've done on a map to what's in WayFinder.

I will try harder in the future though.. :)

Oh, i am a avid greenlaner down in Devon, Somerset, but Wayfinder?, we drive a lot of lanes most people wouldnt, and do our bit clearing trees, and various items put in place to prevent access.
Having Johny, whos worked for devon Highways most of his life, helps, as he knows lanes that are not on OS maps, yet are on the difinitive maps.
Please explain wayfinder, so i can register these lanes.
I got TOMTOM to record our route last time, until the GPS went swimming.

I've logged most of the local lanes I've driven already, but I must confess I've not logged ANY that are not local......

....... must go back and have a look where I've been and update it

I only ever add 1 log to each lane though (most had old dates on them so I logged one to show the lanes are still drivable), should I be logging it EVERY time I use one?
