Well, hardly surprising really is it, what a bunch of muppets, if it had had enough HP to turn wheel, then looking at the contruction, i reckon the wheels would have colapsed anyway, Land rovers axles dont like 35" simexs, so how are they going to cope with 120" + wheels with flat spots,

And according to Matt at D44, whos done Scrap Heap, its all fixed anyway, they put in the heap your shopping list of bits.
85% OF ALL LAND ROVERS BUILT, ARE STILL ON THE ROAD,
THE OTHER 15% MADE IT HOME ;)

Good job there was not a side wind, the welds on those LR wheels would have snapped and the poor old thing would have fallen over like a p@##ed up tramp, At least one of them should have had some idea of ratios....................
4wheels.... 3wheels.... 2wheels....

Is it going to be the other semi next week, or the final that has John Carroll ('LRW' editor) as the guest with Kryton (sorry, Robert Llewellyn)

what a laugh, my 7 year old lad sat their and said "that ain't gonna work" and he was right  :D

as said, it is probably just as well they didn't get far, the way those "wheels" were wobbling about.

Nice ground clearance though  :?

The episode that gave it away was the one where the teams had do build jet powered cars. Whilst rummaging around the scrap heap one team found a brand spanking new huge turbocharger (bolted to a rusty Air Canada air start truck).
Still a bloody good program though.

I beg to differ. It *used* to be good. The last few programs have brought forth vehicles which do not meet the challenge given to them. That's not TV for me.....I much prefer it when they actually build something that actually does the job.

3mph powerboat anyone? Land Rover with square wheels? Pathetic caber toss machines anyone?

<sigh>

The tasks are starting to get a bit boring, specialy with the machines they make to compete in.  Maybe the competitors should be given a more free reign. Some of the experts are a bit dubious too!
