Another V8 question.. !
« on: November 14, 2005, 16:22:19 »
I'm assuming I can fit a manual trnsmission to the back of a V8 out of an auto. Is this correct?

You'll need to change a few bits on the back of the engine, such as adding a flywheel and the like.  But otherwise, no issues.

Thanks Tim. Thought it should all swap over OK. It's nice to have expert knowledge before diving in....... which is precisely what I did last night   Picking up the 'new' 98k 3.5 Sunday.

Also ordered a pair of Janspeed manifolds to put on at the same time as the swap  :D

Make sure you keep hold of the bits off the engine, they are still worth something, or you might find someone who wants to swap the other way.
