Is it just me and 'Cold Harbour Farm' ??
« on: November 16, 2005, 18:07:23 »
But everywhere I look on a map, particularly when scouting out laning triped etc, I come across a Cold Harbour farm ! it must be like the 'Red Lion' of the pub world - there seems to be one on every corner !

Or am I just (un)lucky ?

Cheers, Simon

Perhaps its the modern derivitive of "Cold Comfort Farm"

My father-in-law used to live in a "Cold Harbour farm" by the M25 near Chalfont St Peter, Bucks

From   http://www.wisbechstmary.org.uk/page76.html

"Cold Harbour" is a nickname of reproach for an exposed place and has no special historical significance.

Spooky or what that came from a google and where did my Mother grow up? Well not quite Wisbech St Mary but not far off 80 years ago.

Mike
