Bluetooth woes
« on: March 12, 2004, 23:32:49 »
evenin

ive bought a bluetooth dongle from scan today, its an MSI one with a 200m open range

anyway

i want to get it to discuss matters with my phone!

its a nokia 6310i

ive installed both the msi software and the nokia connection suite..

i can manage to get it connected for about 1 second then the phone says the bluetooth connection has ended and it said connection failed on the pc!

grrrr

anyone there with a bit of blutetooth knowledge?

matthew has given me some ideas but theyve been fruitless too.

i cant get on msn which is annoying me even more!

the msi software can see the fone fine, and i can get a com port connection to it and also use it as a modem but i want to use the nokia suite to get stuff off the fone

i suppose last resort is to get a nokia serial cable

thing is im getting a new fone a week tomorrow so i want this fone cleaned out before it goes back

thanks

dyf

please ignore this

or maybe not if you intend on doing what i am

further on in the faq of the manual.. yes i know rtfm but page 113 for a dongle is a bit far to read!

it says roughly along the lines that the nokia pc suits will NOT work with the msi bluetooth dongle, and they have developed their own method of communicating with the mobile to view information.. something calles mobilet.

anyway

for those of you who havent yet bought a dongle and have a nokia 6310.. the msi doesnt play ball.. more nokia;'s fault than theirs.

now to find someone with a cable!
