Yup, thats a good un,

A good point though generally, if you do tow someone, make sure they know how to be towed, remember you are the one in front, they have to apply the brake or you become the stopping block for them

He could have tackled that a lot better, but that's not the point you are trying to make here....

I will consider myself very very warned!

I had to tow a alfa romeo a couple of weeks ago, was going to use a straight bar, until we hunted out the towing ring, and where to put it

In the end we had to take off the lower valance on the car, glad in a way we did has the hold didn't line up to screw the eye, all the mounting around the captive nut was rusty, we elected to use a kinetic rop for towing in the end, less chance of a similar situtaion as in the film.

The safest way when offering to tow someone is to insist that they attach their end of the rope, then have a good look at what they have tied it to.

I saw a council tranny trying to tow another in North London a couple of years ago, only they had attached to rope to the track rod. A few yards down the road and both front wheels were pointing in opposite directions.

When a friend declared he'd fitted a winch to his insurance company they made it a condition of his policey that his insurance only covered self recovery.

As for Kinetic rope - surely that would make the situation worse as the rope acts as an 'energy store' and therefore pulls with greater force - thats why 'Kinetic rope' was developed?
