dont like the 2.8 isuzu in my 90

ok i got the 90 bout a month ago and have had no probs with it till i take it of road the 90 its self is perfect but the 2.8 isuzu engine in there is poo its got a lot of power but its now dead pisun rings head gasket smoking all the way home  dont know what else to put in there  so im going for a poll

I've voted 2.8 Isuzu - because it is one of the all time great diesel engines.  I am surprised you have had problems because they are incredibly reliable, nay bullet proof!

If your installation is a nice one then all the hard work is done and I'd swap like for like, or do the rebuild work.

Otherwise I'd say chuck a V8 in it - because there's not much beats one...

i think it was a poo poo  engine to be honist to you need oil coolers and inter coolers on them  the car has had the conversion so a new pne shuld just pop in i hope

I know of a 2.8 Isuzu lump that's a real sweet runner, its in a 1990 Trooper, the engine code is 4JB1. The guy doesn't want silly money for it either.

Jason , I voted IZUZU because you have all the conversion work allready done + the Izuzu is the best dead-seal engine on the market bar none, buy the one being offered to you then take your time repairing the dead one  - then sell it  to offset the cost of buyingthe other one, best of luck with it mate,
