Easy to change, no special tools and they cost about £30 a side.
The way I did mine was to remove the hub (complete with wheelbeaings & brake disk), remove the stub axle and you can pull the CV joint & halfshaft out.
The CV joint will come off the end of the halfshaft with a tap from a hammer as it's only held there with a spring clip.
Remember to check the wheelbearings while its apart and re-pack the bearings with grease befor you put it all back together.
The other way to do it is to release the swivelhousing seal and take the top & bottom swivel pins out. Then the whole hub assembly & halfshaft can be removed from the axle. After which it's a case of removing the circlip on the drive flange and out comes the CV joint from the rear of the assembly.
