Peugeot 307SW HDI (I knowits not a Landie)

Can anyone help.

Peugeot serviced it at 3 years old, this being 3 months away.

Broke down today and got told be RAC that radiator had split, turns out no water circuating engine correctly, radiator could have had just water in it either way the cold has made it split, so im told (Load of B******s if you ask me) but possible damaged head.

Spoke to dealer today and was told it was out of warranty.

Any ideas anyone?

Any one want to buy a slightly naquered Peugeot 307SW HDi SE with 35k on the clock?

3 years 60 K warranty ??? If Serviced at Dealer ? What are they on about ?

306 Turbo diesels were renouned for this.  At varying mileages they would blow head gasket / heater - matrix / radiator all at once.  The water loss was so rapid that a warped head was almost invariable a result.  Peugeot will claim failure to use their own brand of coolant - ordinary a/freeze is not good enough(!)   Most of us in the trade decided it was because their rads/ matices were made of tissue paper!

it is 3 years and 30 moths warranty specifies 3 years or 60k which ever comes first.

Your best bet is to contact Peugeot Customer Services yourself and (politely) raise hell.  Make sure you get the number from the servicing dealer though - just to make them aware that you intend to follow this up.

I would argue that as the vehicle has been serviced at a dealer they are responsible for checking/changing the coolant at the correct intervals.  It's more than likely that the coolant was never more than level-checked.

Your service book should give you details of when the coolant  should have been changed - and by stamping the service book the dealer is effectively saying that they have done this.
