i dont mate.....the market seems to slow at the moment. just had majour trouble selling my shogun. ended up almost giving it away  :(
youu have alot of kit fitted and ready for next owner...just a case of waiting for the right person to come along.

Most bidding is in the last hour (from normal users) and in the last seconds from people with Auction Sniper or similar.

You'll have to wait and see, but if your reserve is set at £6k, then you will either sell it for what you want or keep it and not get ripped off.

If i wanted a Disco thats the one i'd buy.  I'd pull the auction and try again February.

hio mike i know and thia has been on my mind  :roll: i have had a very good other to kit it out that is a def 90 for about three grand winch lift roll cage the protection needed etc etc i just think i would cry if i dented my disco  :lol:  plus with a defender panels are easier doors are easier etc etc but dont worry im still confused  :lol:

Depends what sort of events you are talking about.   If it is UK challenge stuff, then I still believe the 90 is a better platform.

It has a narrower body, better approach and departure angles, better breakover, tighter turning circle.   Tyre choice is greater due to fewer bodywork complications...

Yes, yes... I know you *can* modify a Disco to achieve comparable figures to a 90... but IMHO, the 90 is a better starting point for that type of event.



Now... if you are talking about racing.... then I'd choose a Disco.   Well balanced in the air, 100" wheelbase will give reasonable stability, plenty of scope for suspension to cope, etc. etc.


International Challenges... well... jury is still out on that.   Range Rover & even 110 get a look in, depending on the actual event.  

And that's before you even start to look at non-LR vehicles !

Cheers tim im wanting to start at the novice challenge events and work my way upto the big boys and like you state the def 90 is the best platform i know people are doing these events in discos but i think when they progress up the level frm novice then they will have to spend a fair wack to get to be on par with the def so its easier for me to start with a def 90 :? (i think :lol: ) and dont get me wrong i love discos and always will

It might be that you've put the starting price too high!? It doesn't encourage people to bid, even if it's still below the reserve price.

Personally, I think it might be a bit over priced because it's a commercial. It limits the potential buyers somewhat - no rear passengers.

Saying that, if someone wants it I reckon the price is fair :)

It might be cus its a commercial but it has the set  up so u can put seats stright in    its just a more comfy defender  :D im not going to lower the bid as they will juts start at stupid money and it will never get there and i wont let it go for less than six grand  8)

I wasn't saying reduce the reserve - I meant reduce the starting price! It just seems to me that ebayers will happily bid - bid - bid on stuff that has a lower starting price, even though their bids are below the reserve. You just need to get people started

Anyway, good luck with it and as others have said it quite often all happens in the last few hours and minutes :roll:

Can I be so bold to ask what you paid for it?

To be perfectly honest my gut feeling is in the region of £4k ~ maybe top end - it's always one of those questions!  :roll:  

The price of the extra's never add up to what you paid for them come the time to sell the vehicle.

The biggest set back I can see, as Gords said, is the fact it's only a two seater - yes you can bolt the extra seats in but why bother when there is an abundance of reasonable five door Disco's on ebay/E&M etc.
The price difference of one of these against a commercial could be just enough cash to add all the toys on to.

That and people are spending money on other things at this time of year!!

Have you got it in any of the mags? TOR would be best I would imagine especially considering Tim's comments although there has been a red Disco commercial in their small ad's for the last couple of editions  :?
