On a mk1 disco does any one know how or where you can pick up the "live"
of off on what I presume is the aux light switch on the main console?
If so what colour does it become in the loom on engine bay side?
Thats as clear as mud i know but I think my disco has had aux light before so hope fully all i gotta do is hook it up

I think all the circuits for side, dip and main lights are blue with various trace colours.  Why not get one of those 12 volt test screwdrivers and go a prodding.

like i said mate ive got wot looks like a "origanal fitment" console switch and i was wondering if any one knew how to "pick up" the wires ?( as in what colour to look for) so as to go with this switch and not fit a nasty after market number!

I also have a disco 1 my switches along the top are rear demister, rear fogs, then on the other side at the top I have rear wash then rear wipe.

The bottom row of switches are for the original fit radio, I think they were seek, volume up and down and something else, not having the original radio I have been slowly using them up for other things.  but the original wires were thin and were black, brown, blue red and I think one is white.  Do these correspond to anything you have ? Wondered if the previous ownser got hold of a switch and started fitting extras like I have.  I now have one for an extra set of front lights and one for a old fashioned horn.
