Frequently Asked Questions
« on: December 07, 2005, 22:07:32 »
I'm going to put together an FAQ file for the mud-club forums.  (See this thread.)

The shortlist so far is:

- Hey! I was a Commodore yesterday and now I'm a Cadet! Where have my posts gone?

- Why are my postings showing timestamps an hour ahead / behind?

- What is this Evil Duck thing all about?

- I posted a For Sale advert in the Defender forum earlier and it's gone! Who deleted it?

- How do I know when a user has received a PM I sent them?

- How do I resize my avatar image?

- What does SWMBO mean?

The idea is that this FAQ will be accessed from the existing FAQ button in the toolbar at the top of every page.  I'm not expecting everybody to use it all the time, but at least if it's there people can be pointed to it, and in time it will cut down on the number of questions coming up again and again.

If you have any suggestions to add, please do so below...  and if they're difficult ones you could let me know the answer as well :)

This is purely for common questions arising about the forum, not "how do I upgrade my suspension" and other hobby-oriented questions.

Cheers,
David

There is a phpBB2 mod which allows acronyms to have an alternative field. When the acronyms are added to the forums database they are automaticaly recognised and have a hover over for thier meanings. Very handy!
