i was watching an auction on ebay it was for a set of disco 300tdi headlights,indicators,grill and the little bits under the lights i was thinking of upgrading my 200tdi front end but it went for £190 i cant believe it went for that much :shock:  or am i just out off touch with prices :D

I have just seen a L-Rover baseball cap sell for 12 pounds 10p, if the person had looked in sellers other items there was the same cap BUY-IT NOW -6.50P ,Can be bought in main dealers for a fiver ! WHO S Blagging who????????

My pal bought some chrome lights for his A bar-got 'em for £23 brand new in the  box but they wouldn't fit-too big-put 'em back on-Hey presto £46
The ironic thing was if they'd checked his feedback would have seen he paid £23-Go figure that one!

I think some people get tunnel vision and just have to win regardless of the cost.

Only when they get the final winning bid in and go HAHA do they realise "oh crap how much?"

Just priced it up on Paddocks site:

Headlights: £26.99 each
Indicators: £10.65 each
Grill: £63.00
Headlamp Finishers: £14.50 each

Total = £167.28 (£196.55 inc VAT)
So the seller had a good night on Ebay anyway!!  

When I look at the top price I'm willing to pay I also look at the postage cost as some sellers charge £8-£10 for postage when the thing arrives by second class Royal Mail and only actually cost them about £2.00. So that's something else to think about.

I always check against new prices, taking postage into account - especially as Paddocks post for free over £50.

If I'm not going to save 30% I figure I might as well buy new

This happens all the time.  I hardly use Ebay now all the bargains seem to have gone it is too popular.  I had my eye on a Tent which in the end taking P&P into account came out at nearly twice the price of buying one from Silvermans.

had a couple of bargains recently tho - razor edge bonnet without spare wheel carrier, door bottoms, front apron, & windscreen for the 2A all for 99p (+ a 20 min trip to pick them up)

and I've just bought a cubby box mounted on the middle trans cover - 99p
it needs recovering, but that'll only cost a fiver or so.  pick-up  from a house 1/2 mile from the one we're buying in Lincs

My top tip for ebay it look for mis-spelt items that wouldn't normally be picked up by a search. It's amazing how many people can't spell on ebay, means you can often get items with no-one bidding against you.
There again, now I've let you all into the secret it won't be so easy....  :shock:
