I meant to put this on earlier, but forgot.

Friday morning, SWMBO took the Mondeo in to the local dealer for some work doing. I took 'Small-Child' to school & met her there.
When I went in she was drinking coffee in reception & reading one of the tabloids.

I couldn't believe it when she showed me a picture in it of 4 numpty 'TWOCers' turning round smiling at a speed camera they'd triggered in the stolen car.
 One did show some sense & not look, or wsa he too slow-witted to join in???

Still, at least the Bobbies know who nicked it & there's no way they can deny it.

A couple of years ago I was working a night shift in my mate's petrol station.  Lad filled up an old carlton and 'made off' after smiling & waving.  I reported it the the Police & gave them the reg.  A couple of the local cops called in later for a coffee - he'd gone straight up to the nearest motorway services and managed to nick some fags.

Clearly on camera at both sites.

In his own car, correctly registered to him at the correct address.

Needless to say they caught him....

The problem is there's no deterant. In our local paper there's listings of the magistrates courts proceedings and the sentences given out. They're ridiculously light and persistent repeat offenders don't get much more than a slap across the legs

I don't think they are stupid at all, in fact they probably knew exactly what they were doing. Break the law and lets put two fingers up to the police while were at it. Just shows the lack of respect for the law these days.

Oh and a bonus they got National press with the picture, great one to tell there mates, and will really put others off, not.

If they get caught, they might get told off.

Hi Andy

... or get sent on an all expenses paid holiday to Ibiza with a probation officer as part of their rehabilitation. What happened to the good old days of flogging in public. The birch still works, I say bring it to the UK
