I would reckon about four grand tops if it is mint and not a van body
The nice part of living in a small town is that when I don't know what I am doing, someone else does

I would say £4000 sounds about right, just try and ignore the age and check it thoroughly.  I viewed a J reg before i bought mine, it needed all new doors and a back crossmember.
'ear all, see all, say nawt; Eyt all, sup all pay nawt; An' if ivver tha does owt fer nawt; Allus do it fer thi sen.

Remember to take a torch and a hammer - don't know if it is just me but 90's of this vintage I have looked at seem to have pretty poor chassis - almost to the point of being thinner steel than normal - maybe a quality control or cost cutting exercise problem around this time
Don't be afraid to walk away if it aint right just cos you know him !
