Roof Centre Console?
« on: March 31, 2004, 14:30:43 »
Hi, has anyone ever seen a foor console, or a descent dash for a 110 truck cab. I have looked, and cant find anything. Im thinking of making one. I need to mount my CB and Radio, and a few switches, so i dont have to take them out all the time. Cheers :D  :D

Hello there,

Roof consoles, only one i have seen was in a 110 DC, which was fitted by Devon 4x4, they still have the vehicle for sale i think, and the dash centre console ia available from LR, i have one in my LR130, holds radio and loads of switchs.

Happy hunting.

I made one for my hybrid.  Thin sheet aluminium shelf secured 'tween roof, screen and door. This had an up turned lip to which three panels where attached. The centre held CB and radio cassette leaving the outer two for switch's, clock etc.  Will have to modifiy the drivers side, as I kept banging my head on it getting in.  Having Citroen BX seats fitted does not help. Very, very comfortable but much higher than Land Rover ones.

Have a look at http://www.4wdinteriors.com/roof_overview.php. This is the one TBR sell. I have one fitted in my defender and its excellent. About £150 though.

The console, Discovery dash (well entire interior) that Tom Sheppard had specially constructed for his 90Tdi was superb.
He was the guy who captained the Trans-Sahara expedition in the 101FC's in 1975/76
A Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, he wrote the 'Land Rover Experience' book & 'A Guide To Vehicle Dependant Expeditions'

The 90 was eventually sold (circa 97?) by Mr Sheppard in its unique condition.

The picture came out of a copy of 'LRO', which I still have. Unfortunately it's probably in a box by now, so sorry no publication date to hand

Just hada 'quick dig'.
It was in the March 1995 issue of 'LRO', & warranted a 4page article.
