Hi,
I had to buy a new pump, what I heard is that sometimes they can be
repaired, the are not meant to, the cover is riveted in place.
The rivets can be drilled and cover opened.
In my pump one of the valves was apart and one small ball had jammed
between the cover an piston and bent it, and also loosened the rivets.
So the leak I could repair, but the valve was shot so I bought a new
pump.
The local, I'm in Finland, Land Rover rep think that if somebody is
driving a Defender he must be a bit crazy and will pay what ever for
parts, a new part from Land Rover Finland 571€ and from a independent
small shop 230€.
That's my story about the vacuum pump for a 300Tdi.
