hub nut

what size socket do i need to get hub nut undone on rear of a disco, is it the same size as front,

cant be bothered to mess about with it so going to get the right tool before i even stasrt to do the job

i used to use a screw driver and a hammer, but now i have a hub nut tool which i got from paddocks!

Depending on the condition of the nuts and washers, might be worth replacing them too. Unless you already have them

i got one today so wont have to hunt everytime i do the job, only cost a tenner, 3/4 driver draper expert - trade

i bought that cheap one for about a fiver when we did my wheel bearings and ive still not got the skin back on my knuckles   from where it folded under pressure i ended up paying £30 for a dirty great big socket to do it which considering ill never do the bearings ever again such a waste

that was my fear about a cheap box spanner, got a proper big socket so no need to worry, hopefully!

The only problem you might run into is that the socket has thicker sides than the box spanner and my not fit into the hub hole to tighten up the first nut to wind the hub home

yeah that was my only concern, only time will tell now i supose

didnt have any problems like that with my socket we have done 3 bearings with it.
