My motor doesn't exist
« on: December 22, 2005, 06:19:17 »
I'm currently undergoing the annual fun and games known as getting an insutance quote. I've been onto one of the websites that searches for the best quote for you and then it seems that every company who give a quote phone up to ask  why you didn't accept it. When you tell them it was too expensive they put you through to another company who may may be able to do it cheaper.

Well yesterday Kwik Fit phoned up and transferred me to another company. The conversation went something like this:

"What's your vehicle"

"A Land Rover Defender 110 Station Wagon"

"Is that a Tdi County, Td5 or Heritage model"

"No it's a station wagon"

"They're all station wagons"

"Mines a Tdi but not a county"

"They don't make one"

"They do and it's outside"

"They the only models they make, they're diesel and have 5 gears. What's different about yours has it got 6 or 7 gears?"

"Look love stop taking the p*ss I don't want a quote from you."

"I don't want to quote you either."

As the call was recorded I wonder if I'll be used as training for how not to do the job

adriax flux - £408, 9 points, mods declared! not bad for me!
NFU will insure just about owt, but cos i`m under 25 i am excluded from that group! :(

You may find NFU are fussy if you have (cough) 6 points. They also seem good on series and Defender but not so good on RR and Disco. Seems odd but I think they are prehaps an odd company.

I could understand it if it had been modified but as it hasn't I was quite surprised by her reaction.

When she said "I don't want to quote you either" I thought I was back in primary school bickering with my mates :P

This is what they are doing with all the lead they used to put in petrol,  they are spoonfeeding it to late night petrol station attendants and telephone insurance sales persons !  :D

As the_wkdone says, NFU were actually about £300 cheaper than most companies for our 200TDi J-reg disco.

was rather suprising!
