Fun in the snow
« on: December 28, 2005, 11:44:40 »
I took Jess (the quad) out last night in the snow.

Two wheel drive, nobbly tyres and a fixed rear axle in the snow equals FUN FUN FUN!

Came home looking like a snow man.  I'm going out later again today and I'll make sure I take my goggle cam with me.

There's enough.  Not a major "show stopper" amount, but enough to play in.  The hills in The Wolds where I ventured last night had about 3-4 inches with some drifting in places.  If SWMBO allows, I'm planning on heading up to Mount Misery and then, time permitting, up to Goathland.

Well, I made it out this afternoon.  Had great fun.  Roads were nice and clear(ish) until I made it to Ebberston.  About 3 inch on the roads and 4-5 inch on the gravel roads.

Headed up through Ebberston and along the edge of Dalby Forrest.  Did I lane I've not done before.  The entire lane was virgin snow and I wrote my name in the snow (he he   ).  Paid a visit to my dad over at Fordon then back home via the High Mowthorpe top road.  All in all, a nice afternoons/evenings quadding.

I DID remember to take the goggle cam, but there was a slight technical problem.  I had a great dollop of mud on my goggles right where the camera is.

If the snow remains, I might go out again tomorrow.
