Front Light convertions
« on: December 31, 2005, 16:03:14 »
I saw a TD5 110 the other day with really bright sidelights and indicators at the front (and probably the back).  The sidelights were really bright with a slight blue tint.  I thought they looked like LED kits although they may not have been.  I was wondering if anyone knew what convertions were available as my old 110 side lights are "nice but dim"!
I was also wondering what halogen headlamp kits were available on the market and who supplies?

Hope someone can help me see better on these dark nights!

That sounds like LEDs. I bought a complete set of plug in bulbs at malvern including a relay so the indicators flashed at the correct rate.

Everything was a straight swap although a bit pricey (I blame the beer)

Can you give me any more details of the kit?  Maunfacturer and supplier and possibly cost so its not too much of a shock!

Is the relay additional to the system or does it replace the existing flasher unit?

replaces the original flasher unit ...straight swop.  The only thing you have to get used to is the lack of the 'ticking' sound as you indicate

Hi, Bob I have seen some of these kits.was interested especially in changing the side lights.  Can I ask a really stupid question, where does the flasher unit live?? is it just behind the fues box?

Sorry............the last lot I saw were on e-bay this guy;     green--ok
He has various bulbs at different times and also sells the flasher unit if you were after indicators as well.  Works out about £58 for front side lights, stop/tail lights and indicators......the relay is £18.99, but i have seen them for £12.99 in my local car-store
I can't remember where I saw the full kits, but they were about the same price.

Hope this helps.
