Rear Damper Position

Can anyone advise as to why the dampers on my RR attach to the axle on oppersite sides, i.e. n/s connects in front of axle and o/s connects behind axle :?:

They all do that on older RRCs. Its just the way they made them.

same as early 110's as well.

i think they changed them when the 90 was designed as there isnt space to mount the one behind the axle on a 90.

on later rr's they mounted them both forward, aprox c reg, i bobtailed one of them and it alowed the chassis to be cut righ off to the spring seats, made the furthest back point the curve of the wheel!!! :twisted:  :twisted:  :twisted:

It was designed that way to control axle tramp under acceleration.  The design was revised on later cars (possibly with the introduction of the EFi?) to improve handling.  Design......           ........is a compramise!
