Snatch block
« on: January 02, 2006, 23:22:31 »
I've seen it mentioned on here before and not being one to hide my ignorance under a bushel, I have to ask.

Whats a snatch block?  Ive got a feeling that its some sort of pully device, but what is it and its application?  I've done a google for it and found many pictures of them (they seem to come in different shapes and styles, but no info on its use.

Anyone care to enlighten an ignoramus?  :)

Difflock Article has some info

From another site
Quote

"...it doubles your available pulling power (in fact it's an increase of 85% after safety considerations). It will also allow you to perform pulls at an angle to your vehicle..."

Hope that helps

Ironically I have a couple in my Disco that have been used for recovering deer more than my vehicle!  Handy things to keep onboard.
