Oops electrics
« on: January 04, 2006, 08:15:09 »
I gone an done it now  . I need either a wiring diagram for a 2002 D90 TD5 or help from someone with access to one.

I have two Defenders here in Dub's, a 1991 v8 110 and a US spec D90.

my problem is I've fried something in the elelctrics and can't find what.

The problem comes from running an inverter from my cigerette socket to re-charge my laptop while on site. It has overloaded system and I need to find the componant thats gone. Having scanned all the fuses in the main box in front of the gear levers and the box under the passenger seat. No fuses appear to have blown. However the following does not work:

Cigerette lighters
The air-con blower
The instraments (clock, temp, fuel and speedo)
Indicators

head and tail lamps work, all dash and interior lights work and the engine runs fine.

I did discover that the 20amp fuse had been replaced with a 25amp one so perhaps the overload by-passed the fuse and worked it's way back to something that included all the above listed...

Can anyone help as my 110 is off the road and I'm down to shareing a kia sportage with my wife?

Matt

Hope this helps. I'd check the fusable 60Amp Link, it's possible all those items go through the one link.
